Representations of Yorkshire through television
- There are many representations of 'Yorkshire' through TV. The major network known for showing these is ITV which is the contractor for the yorkshire franchise. This station started broadcasting on 29th July 1968, from the new studios, off Kirkstall Road, Leeds.

- Plot- Constable 'Nick Rowan' is a English policeman in the 1960's who decides to be reassigned to the same small village where he was evacuated to during Worl War 2 as a child. There, he patrols the country side as part of a small attachment in the area dealing with the various events and problems that come up while at same time keeping an eye on Claude Greengrass, the local rouge.

- Plot- Emmerdale Farm was renamed Emmerdale in 1989, The rich Tate family, headed by 'Frank Tate', will sometime fall out with farmers (represented by the 'Sugdens' and the 'Glovers') and villagers when he is expanding his economical empire. 'Betty Eagleton' is cleaning houses in the village as well as helping out at the tea-room, which is a good platform for her gossip-telling. Jovialic pub owner 'Alan Turner', half-fraud antique specialist 'Eric Pollard', outcast pig farmer 'Dingle family', post office manager Windsors and a lot of toher characters give the story quite a variation.
