- From my research i found:
Genre: alot of drama realism rom-com and some action
-tend to be what the working class can relate to.
-tend to have low budgets
-tend to have little or no cross-over appeal
-tend to attract a particular audience -either giving them something to relate to or to make them think deeper about a particular issue.
-Scotland seems to be more action based and less applicable to modern da eg Braveheart and Loch Ness
-Ireland-more rom-com; eg Leap Year and About Adam , These films have more cross-over appeal and a slightly higher budget therefore having a wider target audience
-Wales-drama/social realism; eg Human Traffic These films are more of a niche and apply to a certain audience to give people to relate to or think about, also have a lower budget.
-These films are generally quite different to mainstream as the subjects aren't as 'sugar-coated'
-They have regional accents appart from the odd more famous actor/ess brought in to help target a wider auience eg -
-Wales- 'Hugh Grant' in The Englishman Who Went Up The Hill But Never Came Down The Mountain
-Ireland- 'Kate Hudson' in About Adam
-Scotland- 'Mel Gibson' in Braveheart
